Your Inspiration: 100 years old QUOTES?

Author of more than 40 books, Orison Swett Marden (He's the man Napoleon Hill studied and emulated) was the founder of SUCCESS magazine.

Here are a few of his words of wisdom from the book he wrote in 1908, He Who Thinks He Can.

  • "Every child should be taught to expect success."
  • "The man who has learned the art of seeing things looks with his brain."
  • "The best educated people are those who are always learning, always absorbing knowledge from every possible source and at every opportunity."
  • "People do not realize the immense value of utilizing spare minutes."
  • "No substitute has ever yet been discovered for honesty."
  • "Poverty is of no value except as a vantage ground for a starting point."
These are quotes worth learning and passing on to others. One hundred years old!

Q: Success Principle #2

Principle #2.
Replace Your Limiting Beliefs

Even when your goal appears to be crystal clear, and it could be a must for you to achieve...is that enough to succeed? Usually it can be...however there are times where our important goals fall to the side...why?

If you find yourself either failing to act or pulling back, or even sabotaging yourself, there’s one BIG reason: You have Inner Conflicts.

Those conflicts can show up as fears or doubts, or they can appear as limiting beliefs in the appearance of fear or doubts.

You might have a burning desire to experience COMPLETE financial abundance and be considered wealthy. However, if you also have a conflicting belief that says: ‘I don’t want people to judge or use me.’ These two goals in reality completely conflict.

Or you have a desire to achieve any goal but simultaneously you believe that you’re not good enough, old enough, too old, strong enough, smart enough, or educated enough to make it happen. Unless you reveal these inner conflicts ASAP, they will sabotage your success and cause you to fail.

One of the most important things I do is help people discover their conflicts so they can realign themselves.

When everything inside of you is moving toward and you feel completely aligned as a human being with what you want without NO hold backs, there is an incredible level of certainty that moves you and pushes you to action consistently.

As a result, you will tap into your deepest potential, creating results beyond your wildest dreams.

ACTION:
  1. Identify at least 3 things in your day to day life that your dragging your feet on and ask yourself why?
  2. What is it about that goal/task that doesn't feel right to your values?
  3. Bring into the light any limiting beliefs you are carrying with you so far and question them.

Your Inspiration: Succes & Failure Are Both GOOD!

Here's a portion from an article by Chris Widener

Both failure and success are good... if you know what their specific purpose is. Of course we know that success is good, but why?
Success is good because it confirms things for us.
  • Success confirms our plans.
  • Success confirms our decisions.
  • Success confirms our resources.
  • Success confirms our strategies.
  • Success confirms our hunches.
  • Success confirms our teamwork.
  • Success confirms our risks.
  • Success confirms a lot of things!
So when you are successful, ask yourself the following question:
What does this success confirm in my mind?

Now, what about failure? What is the role of failure and how in the world can it be GOOD?
Failure's role is to teach us. We learn from failure.
  • Failure teaches us that we need to change our plans.
  • Failure teaches us that we need to change our decisions.
  • Failure teaches us that we need to change our resources.
  • Failure teaches us that we need to change our strategies.
  • Failure teaches us that we need to change our hunches.
  • Failure teaches us that we need to change our teamwork.
  • Failure teaches us that we need to change our risks.
  • Failure teaches us that we need to change a lot of things!
But at least now we know one more thing that won't work!

With every failure, we learn one more way we can abandon and focus in on what may be the correct way in the future!

Q: Success Principle #1 (of #5)

Have you ever wanted to change an area of your life, and were committed to making that change, but for some reason you didn’t?

Why does this happen?

  • Perhaps you don't know how? OR

  • Could there be circumstances that prevent you from making such a change?
While there may be a variety of reasons why we don’t follow-through on what we say we want to do, inevitably the bottom line it's our mindset.

Success is 80% Psychology, & 20% Mechanics.

Most people know enough to get many jobs done, but they’re not doing it.
Why? Their Psychology is NOT in Sync with their Goals.

If you want to change your life in any area, there are 5 keys to achieving success at the highest level that will not only create the change you aspire to make, but also ensure the changes are sustainable and lasting.

1. Raising Your Standards

You've heard this a dozen times right? Let's be honest with ourselves, change does NOT last long term until change becomes a part of our identity. That means, we literally begin to see these changes as the standard by which we live.

Quite simply, raising your standards means converting your shoulds into musts. Everyone has a list of shoulds: ‘I should spend more time with my kids.’ ‘I should spend more time on a business plan.’ ‘I should lose some weight.’ "I should save money." I should connect with my family." I should, I should, I should. Most people don’t actually change, they just end up, “shoulding” all over themselves.

The key to change is to convert those “shoulds” into “must have” and your entire life changes.

A great example: there are people who have no money, but as soon as one of their parents or family members becomes ill, they all of the sudden have the capacity to make more money and find creative ways to generate it to cover expenses i.e. expensive cancer treatments.

If you look at anyone who seems to live a superior life to you, I guarantee you they have a superior standard in that area.

If you see someone who works out five times a week, it’s not because they have more time than you have. It’s because exercise is a must for them. They never miss. They identify with the standard and they live it every day.

When you feel that you absolutely must get something done,
you will absolutely find a way.

Action:
  1. Identify some of the 'shoulds' you have in your mental list - write it down.
  2. Choose only ONE item right now on your list that you'd like to have as your standard
  3. Imagine in your mind's eye (seeing & feeling) yourself living this new standard
  4. Decide and resolve to take 1 small action TODAY & Every day towards that new standard.

With Passion & Purpose
Nada

Your Biz: Do You Have This Fatal Flaw?

Fatal Flaw
Giving your
Power away

How does this flaw affect your business? Relationships? Employees? Clients?

Giving your power away seems like an obvious thing to avoid doing! Without your power, you are stuck, immobilized, and unable to follow your passion. Why would anyone want to give it away?

This is a particularly difficult one for some folks to swallow, but the simple truth is that people give their power away far too often.

Sometimes people think that they cannot move forward in their personal and business lives because of someone or something else. They blame others and circumstances (economy) for their lack of progress. Their language is seasoned with "if only's", and they see themselves as powerless victims...how unfortunate?!?

Sometimes when people face adversities, they start playing the "blame game" to alleviate their pain.

However, usually they don't realize the dangers of playing the "blame game":

  1. It can make us passive and blind to opportunities that are right under our noses. (Opportunities are pouring on you like rain - are you receiving them or holding an umbrella?)
  2. We get "stuck in the muck" of our gripes. (The toxic energy clings on repelling wealth and health.)
  3. We may get trapped in the habit of whining and complaining (That means you're attracting clients or customers who will do the same with you).
  4. The more we blame, the more helpless and hopeless life seems. (Would you want to do business with a person like that let alone spend any significant amount of time with them?)
  5. We make poor choices when we operate from a helpless mindset. (Making decisions out of fear are 9 out 10 times the wrong decisions)

As you can see, we give our power away to the person we're blaming. We say that another person or condition owns our power. We forget that we have power to control what we think, how we feel and how we act. So, in forgetting, we close our eyes to our options, believing we are 100% powerless.

There is usually a portion of the problem that has nothing to do with others or circumstances: it has to do with how we are responding.

HOW TO OVERCOME IT?

  1. Next time you start blaming and feeling like a victim, ask yourself: Am I really 100% helpless and hopeless?
  2. Some situations are extremely difficult to overcome, but there are also countless stories of people who have overcome seemingly insurmountable challenges. How did those people do it--how did they retain their power?

I've noticed in my work with clients, there are "victims", "survivors", and "thrivers".

"Thrivers" often take three steps:

  • They determine what is still in their control, what they can influence, and what they cannot change.
  • They direct the majority of their focus toward what is in their control.
  • They take actions within their "realm of control".

If you are playing the blame game, start by asking yourself,

"What are all of the things that are NOT in my control?
What are all of the things that ARE in my control?"

When you focus upon what is in your control, rather than upon what is not, you will reclaim the power that is YOURS! Become who you aspire and admire in others.

REMEMBER: This is a process that you can begin now, mastering comes much much later! Persist and you'll free yourself and your energy to pursue your passion! As you begin to realize and appreciate your personal power, you will become more open to listening to your own inner guidance and taking steps in your own path!

"Listen deeply. The greatest failure in any relationship is the failure to participate."
